Project Example - Create a CMS with php script and MySql Database

The Task:

My web site is family based with a secure password protected directory. General information before the closed directory. More personal information behind the directory. The directory is a direct link with a ssl certificate. I am looking to put a username password protected program where the family members, as they go to the directory can create their own username and password. There will be a database of a index of names that the program can recognize to allow access.
